An assortment of photos that are built out of my original photographs - often multiple considering that some of the layers are “textures” – basically images (be they scans or photos) of things found in everyday life. Concrete, rock, paper, cloth – all these things can be layered in with a photo to create a feeling of something entirely different. There’s definitely an art to layering and a lot of trial and error and brushing away at a layer (for instance you like the result of a layer in one part of the photo but want to tone it down elsewhere). At any rate, you’ll see far more “normal” photos from me, but sometimes I do enjoy getting the creative juices flowing and will spend hours creating one of these. I hope you enjoy!
