I managed to make my first trip to Ireland fairly special. As it was my first trip since leaving my day job, I spent a month taking in the Irish Isle.  In the grips of the coldest winter in decades, it wasn’t so much the green island of popular imaginings, but it was a place of history, beauty, and yes, more friendly and warm people along the way. My trip began with a fast bus ride around the country.  If I hadn’t been staying, that trip was so fast it would have just barely been worth it. If your time is limited, I really do suggest picking an area of Ireland and sticking it out there. At least I had three more weeks to take in Dublin and Galway, which I dearly loved.
